ABOUT ME
"“We must recognize that we are more than “homo sapiens’. We are ‘homo vinculum’ -the one who bonds with others. And these bonds are what will save us. They always have.” -Sue Johnson
I’m Zach Shappley
Providing Marriage & Family Therapy is a privilege and a passion. I came to this profession through my own life challenges that caused my marriage to struggle.
I want to help you you move forward in healing your relationships. I will provide a listening ear, a comfortable setting, and plenty of space for you to discuss what is on your heart. I am humbled when people bravely share their stories of joy and heartbreak with me.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is my primary modality of therapy, of which, I have completed multiple levels of training and am working on additional training for full certification. I have a Masters in Counseling from Harding School of Theology and I have my temporary Marriage and Family Therapy license from the State of Tennesee (LMFT-TEMP), working on full licensure.
I have been married for 29 years, have three sons, and have been providing help in areas of marriage enrichment for over 13 years. I am also the Family Minister at Germantown church of Christ, where I focus on marriage and family enrichment, therapy, and children's ministry.
I am a Christian, and can implement Spiritual resources into the healing environment, if you desire.
Your healing is my number one priority. Together we will work to make a path for the best outcomes. Get in touch with me today so we can discuss more about your therapy needs.
